AVID
What is AVID? AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. It is an elective class meant for students with a GPA of 2.0 or higher, who have motivation and potential for academic success, and a desire to attend college. AVID provides an opportunity for students to receive additional support and guidance. Opportunities for support include: tutoring from college students in various subject areas, study skills, note-taking skills, organization, time management, and collaborative activities. AVID students will be able to get information on various post-secondary opportunities, assistance in preparing applications to universities, and visit college campuses.
